Jasmine

I had already decided that Mustikkarinne would focus on lavender, when along came the jasmine, Jasminum polyanthum. A lovely, old-fashioned houseplant in full bloom right on the doorstep of spring celebrations. After flowering, jasmine is beautiful in a hanging planter or as a wild, freely trailing green plant. Its preferred temperature is a bright room between 5–20°C;  an excellent plant for the cottage or balcony that is.

In cooler conditions more buds form; in light they open more readily. Spent blooms can be trimmed off, the jasmine only gets more enthusiastic to produce flowers. During the flowering season, keep the soil evenly moist; the rest of the year, both plant and grower can take it easy.

A warm recommendation from Mustikkarinne, for yourself or as a gift.
