August has always been my favorite month in Helsinki, with its long, velvety evenings, festival weeks, and people. Yesterday, too, there was no rush to get anywhere; after the show, we walked along the shore of Töölönlahti, admiring the laurel trees planted by the city and the setting sun’s reflection arching over the Töölönlahti bay. We listened to a smooth male voice singing a Bryan Adams cover on a terrace across Mannerheimintie, and thought about friends, times gone by, music, and even a little bit about the future.
Thank you to the Hakasalmi Villa gang for coming and being; it was heartfelt to see and hear from you all.
