Prayer flags are meant to benefit everyone. Lung ta, meaning “wind horses” in English, are prayer flags placed in houses, on mountains, and in other meaningful locations. Over time, they fray from exposure to wind and rain. They represent the fragility and impermanence of human life and all that it contains. The colors symbolize the five elements: blue (space), white (water), red (fire), green (air), and yellow (earth).
